Electronic speckle pattern interferometry (ESPI) was used for the investigations as it had the advantages of real-time and noncontact measurement, submicron sensitivity and digital image processing. In order to obtain the resonant frequencies and corresponding mode shapes of cantilever cracked plates at the same time, a self arranged amplitude-fluctuation ESPI (AF-ESPI) optical setup with good fringe visibility and noise reduction was established. It was found that numerical analysis of resonant frequencies and mode shapes based on finite element package showed good agreement with experimental measurements. |
