Abstract
This paper presents a novel single-chip high-power transmitter solution for dual-band millimeter-wave (mmwave) satellite applications. Integrating a power amplifier (PA), an absorptive single-pole-double-throw (SPDT) switch, and a dual-band branch-line coupler (DB-BLC), the chip enables a dual-band, dual-polarized transmitter circuit working at 18 GHz and 28 GHz. Its unique design generates opposite phases at split ports, facilitating direct use with orthogonally placed linearly polarized antennas to produce dual circular polarization at dual bands. The reconfigurability is achieved using the switch to get the desired polarization. This innovative single-chip solution addresses the complex demands of satellite communication, offering compactness, reconfigurability, and polarization diversity essential for modern satellite systems.
