Abstract
In this exploratory study, important components of the stress process were under close scrutiny. Subjects self-administered a computer programmed interview, which started with a self-selected daily hassle and went on to examine the person’s appraisals of the incident, actions taken towards It and Its Impact on the person. its Personal evaluations of coping efficacy and personal decisions of coping consistency were also probed. Results suggested that daily hassles were recurrent and minor In nature; and people tended to make mixed and combined appraisals of these hassles. Perceived coping efficacy affected perceived stress impact and future coping consistency. It seemed that there was a self-monitoring mechanism in the coping process, and people’s coping efforts tended to be rather economical.
本研究深入且詳細地探討了壓力過程中的幾個重要成份。受試者接受了一項電腦程式化的訪問，以一項自選的生活困擾事件開始，進而探討了當事人的認知評估，所使用的因應行為及事件對個人的衝擊，個人還自評了因應的有效性和未來因應的一致性。研究結果顯示，生活困擾事件通常是復發性但並不嚴重，人們通常會對事件作多重的認知評估，個人知覺的因應有效性會影響壓力衝擊及未來的因應一致性的評量。在壓力的過程中，似乎存在一個自我監控的機制，人們的因應努力是相當經濟的。
