Abstract
This paper presents a method for reconstructing the electrical conductivity image using electrodes, which is implemented on an embedded real-time controller for real-time display. The reconstruction architecture comprises electrical field modeling, establishing a sensitivity matrix that relates the electrical field gradient to conductivity variation, and utilizing Tikhonov regularization to solve the ill-posed inverse problem. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated using numerically simulated data. The computational time required to reconstruct the electrical conductivity image is less than three ms. As illustrated by developing a prototype of the electrical impedance tomography (EIT) sensing system with the electrical image reconstruction method implemented on an embedded real-time controller, the EIT sensing system produces an electrical conductivity image at a rate of 32 ms per frame.
