Abstract
We demonstrate that light can be directed through scattering media with only the phase (without the amplitude) of optical phase conjugation. By means of pseudospectral time-domain (PSTD) simulations, the wave characteristics of light trespassing a two-dimensional (2-D) macroscopic scattering medium is precisely accounted for. Specifically, research findings show that light can be directed into and focusing within a scattering medium, even without the exact amplitude—focusing of light through a scattering medium can be achieved with less stringent criteria. The research findings reported in this article opens up pragmatic possibilities to direct light through turbid medium in general.
