Harnessing momentums of CMOS technologies, it is intriguing to integrate medical diagnostic technologies with personalized mobile platforms. In this paper, both microfluidic pumping and biomolecular detection are monolithically implemented by a 0.35μm standard CMOS technology. The sample pumping is achieved by an on-chip travelling-wave electroosmosis (TWEO) device, including phase-shift driving circuits, with microfluidic channels. At the same time, the biomolecular detection is accomplished by a poly-silicon based field-effect sensor device, with a chopper differential-difference amplifier (DDA) based analog-front-end (AFE). This work demonstrates feasibility to integrate personalized diagnosis platform by standard CMOS processes. In addition, it also paves the way toward smart sensing technologies in point-of-care applications. ? 2017 IEEE. |
