Publication A 15/30-GHz dual-band multiphase voltage-controlled oscillator in 0.18-μm CMOS(2007) ;Hsieh, H.-H. ;Hsu, Y.-C.; Hsieh, H.-H.;Hsu, Y.-C.;Lu, L.-H.A multiphase oscillator suitable for 15/30-GHz dual-band applications is presented. In the circuit implementation, the 15-GHz half-quadrature voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) is realized by a rotary traveling-wave oscillator, while frequency doublers are adopted to generate the quadrature output signals at the 30-GHz frequency band. The proposed circuit is fabricated in a standard 0.18-μm CMOS process with a chip area of 1.1 × 1.0 mm2. Operated at a 2-V supply voltage, the VCO core consumes a dc power of 52 mW. With a frequency tuning range of 250 MHz, the 15-GHz half-quadrature VCO exhibits an output power of -8 dBm and a phase noise of -112 dBc/Hz at 1-MHz offset frequency. The measured power level and phase noise of the 30-GHz quadrature outputs are -16 dBm and -104 dBc/Hz, respectively. © 2007 IEEE.journal article1Scopus© Citations 64 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Publication Area-saving and high-efficiency rgb led driver with adaptive driving voltage and energy-saving technique(2018) ;Hsu, Y.-C. ;Lin, J.-Y.; Hsu, Y.-C.;Lin, J.-Y.;Chen, C.C.-P.The red-green-blue light-emitting diode (RGBLED) driver with adaptive driving voltage and energy-saving (ADVE) technique is presented in this paper. To obtain the proper driving voltage, a dynamic output voltage selector is proposed. This approach tracks the reference voltage of a boost converter to achieve the appropriate output voltage of the boost converter. Hence, the power loss of the linear current regulator is reduced to improve the efficiency of whole system. Moreover, the chip area is saved by the proposed switching linear current regulator. This chip was fabricated using TSMC 0.35 µm 2P4M complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) technology. The active chip area is 0.3 mm2. The maximum driving current and operating frequency are 100 mA and 100 kHz, respectively. Compared with a conventional LED driver with fixed output voltage, the experimental results demonstrate that the power loss of the proposed LED driver with ADVE technique is reduced by over 58%. © 2018 by the authors.journal article1Scopus© Citations 4 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Biocompatible and multifunctional gold nanorods for effective photothermal therapy of oral squamous cell carcinoma(Royal Society of Chemistry, 2019) ;Liao, Y.-T. ;Liu, C.-H. ;Chin, Y. ;Chen, S.-Y.; ;Hsu, Y.-C.; Liao Y.-T.;Liu C.-H.;Chin Y.;Chen S.-Y.;Shing-Hwa Liu;Hsu Y.-C.;Wu K.C.-W.Herein, a cysteine-functionalized alginate was used to replace cytotoxic cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) on gold nanorods (GNRs) by gold-thiol bonding. The characterization shows that the alginate-modified GNRs (GNR@Alg-Cys) were 137 nm in length (measured by zetasizer) with a negative surface charge (-28.4 mV). The GNR@Alg-Cys showed an intense absorption at 800 nm, indicating the potential of GNR@Alg-Cys for NIR-excited photothermal therapy (PTT). To target cancer cells, a cyclic peptide, c(RGDfK)KKK, was further modified on GNR@Alg-Cys (denoted as GNR@Alg-Cys/RGD). In vitro experiments reveal the apparently enhanced cell viability under a high dose of GNRs as well as the death of SAS-3 cell lines exposed to a single-wavelength laser (808 nm). The animal study revealed that the volume of GNR@Alg-Cys/RGD-treated laser-exposed tumor was reduced five times when compared with that in the case of the control group (PBS-treated tumor). Furthermore, the in vivo toxicity of GNR@Alg-Cys/RGD was evaluated, and no significant effect was observed on the functions of liver and kidneys after PTT. ? 2019 The Royal Society of Chemistry.journal article2Scopus© Citations 41 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

The stepwise co-sensitization by monomolecular adsorption of N719/FL and black dye/FL show enhanced photovoltaic performances for the pertinent plastic DSSCs, compare with that of the cell with the corresponding individual dyes. The optimal conversion efficiencies of plastic DSSCs with N719/FL and black dye/FL are found to be 5.10% and 3.78%, respectively, which are higher than those of the cells with the corresponding individual sensitizers. The incident photon-to-current conversion efficiency (IPCE) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) are also used to analysis these behaviors. © 2010 Elsevier B.V.journal article3Scopus© Citations 67 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
